Crown Princess Victoria’s wedding last Saturday was a very nice thing for all of Sweden. At least for the 500,000 Swedes and tourists that gathered by the castle and along the cortege route, and for the countless others who watched at home in Sweden and around the world.
My Swede’s aunt called from Maine to say she was watching and when I called my Aunt in Chicago she told me it was on there too.
What was especially nice for me was that we made a romantic day of it with candles, soft cheeses and nibbles, wine, champagne, cake, sherry and lots of hand holding and sweet kisses.

The new Prince’s speech at the wedding was brilliant. You can read it here, some of the nicest parts are in English. Watching the royal wedding with my Swede was a very nice thing that happened to me in Sweden.
