Nice things happen to me in Sweden – Lobster and Melodiefestivalen

**I know a lot of expats that actually hate (seems strong, doesn’t it?) Melodiefestivalen but I embrace anything I can do together with my Swede. If he didn’t watch the contest I probably wouldn’t even know it existed.

I can't believe they pulled out the lobster dinner!

My Swede’s friend and wife invited me to dinner because they knew I was alone and that the four of us like to watch Melodiefestivalen.

We had fun enjoying the feast.

Between the welcome drink, dinner and all of the chatting, we almost missed the start of Melodiefestivalen. I was disappointed to see two acts

What a treat!

from last year, though one repeater was excellent (She went through to the finals and I can’t remember her name, nor am I going to look her up

My hostess snapped a pic of me and her Swede.

right now. But she was good).

Pure decadence.

And the desert was the icing on the cake of a fun evening. How nice is it when friends take care of you? Extremely nice. Nice things happen to me in Sweden.

Extra:

I had on my LL Bean shearling boots with ice grippers attached but she was out in her high heels. I was on my way home and she was on her way out (notice the trademark liquor store bag in her left hand). Conclusion: Swedish youth! I guess some females grow up learning how to navigate the ice in heels.
